Petanque; Sakado Feminines Cup

The ladies petanque tournament at Sakado, Saitama has held on 28th. First of all, I would like to mention that the hosting at Sakado Petanque Club was superve. When we were trying to find the venue, we have spotted the "petanque" flags, then guiding posters to escourt us to the parking lot. Thoughtfully prepared for the needs of the every participants. Some complain about the tournament system, but that is usual in any tournament whether it is fair or not. However my hat were taken for the perfect hosting.

Ace has teamed up with Yokoyama-san as "Aoyama Petanque". They have had clearly intimidating game and so-so ones. But 7th among 34 team with 2 games out of 6 which they did not give any point to their oppornent should have been recognized as a good-day. In the good game, Yokoyama-san's point gave pressure and ACE struck boules out like B quick here and block point there(she is a volleyballer).

After the tournament schedule was done, All Japan veteran Inoue-san has kindly asked to play another game. There she taught us tactics, theory, and mind setting step-by-step along the game goes. This has been very educational and ACE has started to appreciate the stragegical side of the game. Her stragegical management of volleyball will finally be matched with petanques. ACE said "now I think I am ready to play real petanque". Our most gratitude for Inoue-san to share the passion for petanque and generousity!

第一回坂戸女子ペタンク大会が２８日に開催されました。　先ずコメントしておきたいのは、坂戸ペタンクの皆様の素晴らしいホスティングについてです。　車で会場を探している時にペタンクの幟が目に入り、後は駐車場までサインボードで誘導されて着く事ができました。　参加者の事を考えた細かな心遣いも目立ちました。　いつもの事ながらトーナメント形式についての不平も聞こえましたが、私は坂戸ペタンクの皆様に最高の敬意を示したいと思います。

エースは横山さんと組んで青山ペタンクチームで参戦。　良いゲームとまあまあとにハッキリ分かれるゲーム展開ながら、34チーム中7位は立派な成績でしょう。　６試合中２試合は相手に１点も取らせない展開でした。　良い展開の時は横山さんのポアンテで相手にプレッシャーを与え、エースがBクイックやブロックを決めるかのごとくティール(彼女は実はバレーボーラーです)。

トーナメント終了後、全日本代表常連の井上さん率いるチームが練習試合に誘ってくれました。　ここで戦略、理論、精神的ポジションなどゲーム展開のステップ毎にレッスンしてくれました。　この日の最大の収穫だったかもしれません。　エースもペタンクの戦略部分を理解しました。バレーボールで培ったチームでの戦略立てがペタンクでも今後発揮される事でしょう。 ”これからは本当のペタンクができそう”とはエースのコメントです。　井上さんにはペタンクへの情熱のお裾分けと後進を育てる寛大な心に感謝いたします！
