Husby and Wife Tournament/ 夫婦杯

My wife has a blog site and its main theme is raising child at beach, but either she has running out of news or she too is into petanque, often her blog entry is about petanque related. This makes me more difficult to write something since we play together, and I have to have different angle... Anyway, please visit her site as following the top link in Japanese.
Ok, about the tournament. Despite the fact that I usually refuse to team up with my wife since it could affect the quality of the dinner on the day or pointless arguments at home, I enjoyed playing with my wife. This tournament is unique since you have to team up with your legally registered spouse. There were 34 teams! Wow.
We entered the tournament as Hiratsuka Beach Petanque since we have had new club members. It was first tournament for Endo family who started playing about a 2 month ago and practicing intentionally. Especially Endo husband in the picture had good shooting average and few mirracle shots by pointing. I would like to believe that our practice on Hiratsuka beach park has paid up and my enphasize on basic(actually I could only teach him basic as I am new to the game, too). The team has had amazing result of 4th place! Congratulations!! Our team? our first game was against the 2nd place team of Kawamoto Petanque. The loss on the first game has eliminated our chance to have good result. 22nd place was poor result and I cannot be proud of but we have had good games. We would like to have a revenge next year!

さて、本題です。　私は常々エースとチームアップするのを拒んできました。　夕飯のクオリティーに影響がでたり、家でもペタンクについて、あーだこーだと始まるのが嫌だからです。　しかしこのトーナメントは楽しめました。　とてもユニークな大会で、戸籍上夫婦である事が参加条件なのです。　そして何と34チームのエントリー！　凄い。
今回は新たなクラブメンバーの参加もあったので、平塚ビーチペタンクでエントリーしました。　遠藤家はペタンクを始めて2か月あまりで猛練習を行いながらも、初トーナメントでした。　特に旦那さんはティールも良く決め、ポワンテでもミラクルショットを出して活躍しました。　ビーチパークでの練習と基本に忠実にとの私の薦め(私も下手なのでそれしか言えない・・）の甲斐があったと信じたい。結果は驚異の4位！　おめでとうございます！！　我々？　初戦が2位になった川本ペタンクのチームで、ここでの敗退で、上位進出が早々と途絶えてしまいました。　22位はとてもじゃないけど、褒められた成績ではありませんが、良いプレーができました。　来年はリベンジだ！
